Every painting job from North Bay Painting Services is backed by a 1-year written warranty on workmanship. If the paint we apply fails because of poor prep, incorrect product selection, or application error on our part - peeling, blistering, cracking, flaking - we return to your property, assess the failure, and fix it at no cost to you. Labour and paint are both included. The warranty covers interior and exterior work, starts on the day the project is signed off, and is transferable to the next owner if you sell the property within 1 year. The warranty is limited to paint defects and workmanship - nothing else. Real warranties tell you both what they cover and what they don't. No fine print, no surprises.

  • Peeling of paint or primer from prepared surfaces
  • Blistering caused by incorrect product or prep
  • Cracking or checking of the paint film on interior or exterior surfaces
  • Flaking due to application error or insufficient coats
  • Premature fading on correctly-specified exterior finishes
  • Failure of the primer coat
  • Return visit labour and all paint required to fix the failure

What's excluded

  • Damage from roof leaks, plumbing leaks, or ice damming
  • Scuffs, scratches, and gouges from furniture, pets, or daily wear
  • Settling cracks in drywall that occur after the paint dries
  • Surfaces we explicitly flagged as high-risk and repainted anyway at your request
  • Staining from smoke, nicotine, grease, or other occupant sources
  • Failure caused by third-party trades working on the painted surface
  • Paint we did not supply or apply (customer-supplied material)
  • Acts of God: fire, flood, severe weather events
How to claim

Filing a warranty claim is straightforward.

  1. Call or text us.

    Phone (705) 482-1142 or reply to the number on your signed warranty certificate. Include a photo of the failure, the project address, and the original project completion date.

  2. On-site assessment within 7 business days.

    Ahmed or a member of the crew visits the property, inspects the surface, and determines whether the failure falls under the warranty coverage.

  3. Repair scheduled at your convenience.

    If covered, we book a return visit. Most warranty repairs complete in one day. We bring the same paint used on the original job so the colour matches perfectly.

  4. Signed off by you.

    Final walkthrough at the end of the repair visit. Your original warranty period continues on the unaffected surfaces and restarts at 1 year on the repaired section.

What does the 1-year warranty cover?

Our 1-year written warranty covers peeling, blistering, cracking, flaking, and premature failure of our workmanship on interior and exterior painting jobs. If a painted surface fails due to poor prep, incorrect product selection, or application error on our part within 1 year of the project completion date, we return and correct it at no cost to the customer. Labour and paint to fix the failure are both included.

How do I file a warranty claim?

Call (705) 482-1142 or email the phone number on your signed warranty certificate. Send a photo of the failure and reference the project date and address. We schedule an on-site visit within 7 business days, assess the issue, and book the repair. If the failure is covered under the warranty, the repair is free. If the failure falls under an exclusion (physical damage, moisture from a roof leak, and so on), we provide a quote to repair at normal rates.

What does the 1-year written warranty cover?

The 1-year written warranty covers workmanship failures on the paint we apply: peeling, blistering, cracking, flaking, premature fading on correctly-specified exterior finishes, and primer-coat failure. It covers both labour to come back and the paint required to fix the issue. Coverage runs for 12 months from the project completion date that is signed off on your warranty certificate, and the warranty is transferable to a new owner if you sell the property within that window.

How do I make a warranty claim with North Bay Painting Services?

Ahmed or a member of the crew comes out for an on-site assessment within 7 business days, confirms whether the failure is covered, and books the repair. There is no claim form to mail in and no deductible. Most warranty repairs are completed in a single return visit.

Are there situations where the warranty does not apply?

Yes, and we put the exclusions in writing so there are no surprises. The warranty does not cover physical damage from furniture, pets, or daily wear, settling cracks in drywall, leaks from the roof or plumbing, smoke and nicotine staining, customer-supplied paint, work done by other trades on top of our paint, and acts of God. It also does not cover surfaces we explicitly flagged as high-risk before painting if the customer asked us to proceed anyway. Everything outside those exclusions is covered for the full 1 year.
