How do I get a certificate of insurance for my commercial painting project?

Call (705) 482-1142 or email us with the name of the entity that needs to be added as a certificate holder and the project address. Most commercial, institutional, and property-management clients are added as additional insured on the certificate. Turnaround is typically 24 to 48 hours. We issue certificates at no charge to the client, and the certificate is valid for the duration of the policy term.

Yes. North Bay Painting Services maintains active WSIB clearance with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario for every painter on every job. WSIB coverage protects you, the property owner, from any liability if a worker is injured on your site. We can pull a current WSIB clearance certificate directly from the WSIB online portal and send it to you within minutes of a request. Property managers, schools, municipalities, and any homeowner who wants to verify before signing can ask for it at any time.

What insurance coverage does the company carry?

We carry commercial general liability insurance with a coverage limit suitable for residential, commercial, and institutional painting work in Ontario, plus a surety bond. The liability policy covers third-party property damage and bodily injury that could occur during a painting project. The surety bond gives institutional clients (schools, municipal, long-term care) the protection they need to issue us a contract without taking on counterparty risk. Can I see proof of insurance before work begins?

Yes, and we encourage it. For homeowners, we can bring a printed copy of the certificate of insurance and the WSIB clearance letter to the first site visit, or email both before you sign. For commercial clients and property managers, we issue a formal certificate of insurance with your entity named as additional insured, typically within 24 to 48 hours of the request. There is no charge for this and no obligation to move forward with the project after you receive the documents.
